Grandmother's Flower Garden - Quilt Patis
Karen and I have started a joint project. We are working on a Grandmother's Flower Garden using Quilt Patis. Patis were invented by Pati Shambaugh of Picking Up The Pieces in Columbus, Ohio. They really do make doing set in pieces fun and easy. What I love about this project is there is no preparation. Just grab your fabric, templates, scissors, thread, pins and needles and you are ready to start stitching. I throw it in my purse and work at the playground or whenever I have a few minutes. Here is my progress so far.
Here is the information about Quilt Patis from Pati's website. There are some great instructional videos that you can watch as well!
Quilt Patis™ temporary plastic foundation help you hand piece your “Grandmother’s Flower Garden” quilts and, now, so many more designs. Quilting teacher, Pati Shambaugh, developed this faster technique based on the English Paper Piecing method.
Pati die cuts a soft flexible plastic into accurate temporary foundations. Reuse the same pieces throughout your quilt top. On a hexagon, there are only 7 backstitches which you never have to remove! With Pati’s two row method you only need enough foundations for the pieces you are adding and the row to which they are being sewn.
|I am really enjoying working with Quilt Patis…here is a tumbling blocks quilt I have started . . .||. . . and a Sashiko hexagon quilt too!|
